Our Story

Our journey began in November 2014. We had just returned from Children’s Hospital of Michigan where my 15-year-old son participated in a 4-day study that confirmed he had severe OCD. The Chair of the Department of Psychiatry & Behavioral Neurosciences recommended cognitive behavior therapy and medication. My son told the doctor that he did not want to go to therapy and that he refused to put chemicals in his body. The Dr. told him he had written four books on this and that statistically if he did not comply he could get 10% worse each year. So in five years he could be 50% worse. My son told the Dr. that he was not a statistic and he was a unique individual and needed to be treated as such.

Shortly after returning, I was introduced to Barry Bruder, the founder and owner of IASIS. In January 2015 Barry agreed to come to Buffalo to demo it on our son. My son was taking exams all week. Wednesday, while my husband Joe was driving him to my office where he would meet Barry for his first treatment, I received a text from him, “Mom, you need to call my guidance counselor, the exam’s soooo easy, but because I write legit, detailed answers I need a separate room and longer time.”

When he arrived, he went into the room with Barry and came out approx. 30 min later. I sensed calmness about my son; however, I was skeptical that it was from the treatment. He went home to study for his math exam that was scheduled for 8am the next morning. I assumed he would be very anxious.

Immediately after the exam he returned to my office for his second treatment. After his treatment Barry invited my son to share his experience. I was a little concerned with what he might say (he is not one to sugar coat anything). Our son reminded us that sleep had been an issue for him since 7th grade; he also said he could not remember the last time he had dreamed.

He said he had slept though the night and had a vivid dream. He said he went into his exam with zero anxiety, finished his exam on time and believed he aced it. This was very emotional for us. I remember feeling overwhelmed with hope.

We made a commitment to purchase the equipment and go to California for the training. What started out being a very personal experience became a passion for us to help others. We believe it is a disservice not to share it with others, and we are committed to doing so.

We have had the privilege of treating many people in Western New York as well as those that have traveled to Buffalo for treatment. We are currently only one of a few that provide this particular treatment on the East Coast. We have treated as young as 2 years old and as old as 89. It has been very rewarding to see the impact this treatment has had on the individuals as well as the positive impact it has had on their families.

The results we are witnessing are making us more certain that we will change a lot of lives for the better… giving people what they deserve, optimal health.
